The Stride device is a compact, lightweight rental safety device designed for outdoor enthusiasts. The device gives you the ability to ping for help if you ever need it. This ping sends your location data to search and rescue personnel, making it easier for them to find you. The device features two essential buttons:
Visit any Stride dispenser at trailheads or visitor centers. Rent a device before starting your adventure.
Attach the device to your hiking boot or gear using the built-in secure clip system.
Return the device to any Stride dispenser location after completing your outdoor activity.
The most recent Stride prototype utilizes similar satellite networks to current outdoor safety devices such as the Garmin InReach. While there are not as many features as devices such as the InReach, Stride offers a way to call for help at the very least for those who have nothing.
